Hi, its me, Maggie!!
Well I had such a nice time tonight, I don’t know where to start. Ok, so maybe I will start at the beginning! Zoei, who is a kind young woman, well she feeds me some nights and today we went for our first ride!!!!
Boy was I ever SURPRISED! She was kind and gentle and didn’t rush. It was like we had all the time in the world. I got a little brushing, a little grass snack, a tack up and then I stood so nice and quiet! Remember I have been working on this, standing still at the mounting block thingy (I guess it is important for the humans) and today, I just stood! All that practice is sure paying off! And secretly I was hoping this would really work out. She is always so nice to me. Least I can do is ro- cip-ro-cate !!
So off we go, nice gentle walk, turning this way, then later that way, w a couple of whoas in between. And you know what? That was it! She told me a few times that I was a good girl! I can’t tell you how nice that is to hear. Someone else who can see the real me!! Maggie, that’s me!!
In the past, people have tried all kinds of “ways” to get me to cooperate. How about just asking? (On Lady was Putting chains over my nose – really not nice. And when I say, hey that is not nice, I get yanked, Ouch, that hurts, and I said it hurts, and then I got yanked again! What the heck???)
Zoei would never do that…She would never scare me or hurt me. All humans can make mistakes, I make LOTS of mistakes, but you know a secret? Horses know your intention. That is the subject of another post, so I will leave it at that. But we know, and we act accordingly. So just chew on that….
Did someone mention chew? That reminds me, I am hungry…where IS my hay?
Anyway, Afterwards Zoei hopped off she loved on me. We did a little trotting around on the lead line, gotta get into shape!
Then came CARROTS! How did she know??? I LOVE carrots! We did some stretches with them, had to work a bit, but heck, it is for CARROTS! I did my stretches and she rubbed me and had such a kind voice. I think we are going to do this again. Sure hoping this could be a regular thing. Crossing hooves!!
Xoxo, Maggie
PS..Remember I am looking for a forever home, nearby the rescue, so they can keep an EYE on me…If you want to meet me, and think we might be a match, please send me a message!
